This is the world's thinnest smartphone in official existence, besting those Guiness-certified Gionee Elife phones and the newcomer Oppo R5, which happens to be a staggering 0.10mm thicker.
Chinese manufacturer Vivo officially announced the Vivo X5 Max, it measures just 3.98mm at its thinnest point and 4.75mm at thickest.
Vivo designed a motherboard that's only 1.7mm thick, used an exceptionally thin screen assembly that measures just 1.36mm, and stuck "the world's thinnest speaker box" at 2.45mm inside.
This is made even more impressive by the fact that the Vivo X5 Max somehow retains a dual-SIM slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack at such constraints.
Some more features of the World's Slimmest Smartphone the Vivo X5 Max are:
- It has a 5.5-inch 1080p Super-AMOLED screen.
- Runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 1.7GHz octa-core processor.
- Paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.
- A 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.
- A Yamaha YSS-205X chip to handle the sound.
- Runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat topped with Funtouch OS 2.0.
Sources have it that the Vivo X5 Max will go on sale on December 22, to be priced at $486 (2998 RMB) in China.
